yay!! i got a dolly for christmas!!
yes, my mom bought me a "monster high" doll, and i am in luv with her! her name is draculaura, daughter of count dracula. right up my alley. i have never had a doll that was so photogenic, so i know that there will be many photoshoots as a result. i mean, check out these pics... and they were just quick shots that i took in my kitchen! lol!



and naturally i can't leave her in the clothes and accessories that she came with. god no. so i put her in barbies jeans, kellys (barbies baby sister) dress, blythes sunglasses, and yumis (puffy amiyumi) boots. totally stylin, if i do say so myself.
heh heh... i luv her whole "ugh, the sun sucks." thing in these pics... such a vampire. all drama.

it seems the library really does luv me lately... yay, peach girl!! this series is so painful to watch and totally addicting at the same time!! i mean, all the trouble that keeps coming momo's way, courtesy of her "friend" sae? sadly relatable... oh, high school.
i'd have to say that the manga is definitely in my top ten favorite manga series. like, ever. including the side series, "sae's story". i seriously could not put it down when i was reading it, so naturally i would like the anime too!

the sims 3 - i go through these phases where i forget exactly how much i kinda adore this whole series of games. like, when i first got the original sims game, i would not stop playing. my mother hated me for like, a month. then she proceeded to buy me all the expansion packs and i was hooked. then she prceeded to by me the sims 2 when it was released, which happened to be near my birthday. score.
i'm still super hooked, now on the sims 3. though 3 isnt as good as 2 ;)

jpop - i am having one of those days where adorable prepubescent voices over peppy happy music seems just right.

kimi ni todoke - i love this manga. and luckily the library finally has the next volume that i need!! hows that for lucky?!

today i dig... para para?

ok. i'm not at all positive as to why i decided to listen to this song today, much less post about it. but i, as i tell everyone all the time, am a very. random. girl.

so i love me some rock and roll, but i am definitely no stranger to pop music, and i have a sickening love for the cutest of jpop groups and singers. but to be honest, "boom boom mecha macho"? not really something i would listen to on my own. naturally, when i talk of listening to/wearing/watching/idolizing something totally out of my radar range there can only be one culprit to blame: my little sister. the kid who got me to listen to her trendy ass hipster music and challenges my stubbornness and patience daily. god, this story is starting to get long already. anyway.

my sister went through this phase where she was totally bewitched by para para. [note: japanese music, dance, and pop culture phenomenon. dance routines generally look like neon and glitter adorned renditions of the macarena. not hating, just saying.]
she would make extensive youtube playlists of all these para para songs and naturally, no matter how hard i tried, no matter how badass i pretended to be, i was won over. yes. i know.
there were definitely songs on that playlist that annoyed the hell out of me. i'm not big on techno type music, which is what most of these songs are built on. but a few totally stuck with me (i actually have soran happies on my mp3, lol.).

so then we come to this. like i noted above, this is the pv for "boom boom mecha macho" by gyaruru. so infectious it makes you want to dance along. or hurt yourself, depending on your mood i suppose.

the chick in the middle amuses me to no end. again, not hating, but when she dances she looks a wee bit awkward and i just want to pat her on the head and be all, "you're cute."

well, i suppose i will end my very random, semi-pointless rant here. ugh, who am i kidding? it was totally pointless. ;)

for some reason the stretch of 101 between the 85 exit and morgan hill is excrutiatingly boring. boring enough to take boring pictures to post on my boring blog, lol...
i luv how my mobile photos tend to come out all arty and hazy. i like to pretend that its intentional, that my cell phone photography is just that deep. in reality i just have a shitty phone. but lets keep pretending i have a keen sense of light balance and usage. waaaay more fun. ;)

      this song is so amazing. i first heard it on the anime blood+... it was the 3rd opening theme i believe, and whenever i hear this all i can see is the opening sequence of the show, which is just gorgeous. anyway, moving on.

      i LUV this song. i don't know why, but i just totally luv this freaking song. i'm not really a big fan of dance-y, trance-y music either... its just really catchy. this is also an anime opening. yes, u are sensing a pattern here...

† kaikou catharsis. nightmare.
      nightmare is an amazing band. they just... dude. they kinda rule. this song is great and has a nice mellow jrock feel to it. luv.

      yes, the sailor moon theme song. i really like this version, it sounds kinda retro, kinda... 1970's, scooby doo-esque. and c`mon. sailor moon? win.

yay, halloween!!

gah, no matter how much i try to actually plan out a halloween costume, i always end up just wearing normal clothes and like, a wig or something!! lol!

this year was really not all that different... i was kinda like... a cat... anime-ish... random girl? yeah, not really creative... but i absolutely LUVED the vampire teeth i bought... and dubbed "kitty teeth" cuz thats waaaaaay cuter! anyway, the teeth i bought, "sexy bites", are awesome cuz you custom fit them to your real teeth and they last for, like, forever. lol! super cool!                                          

soooo.... i added a pink wig (courtesy of my cosplay-savvy sister) and a set of cheetah print kitty ears (um, a gift from my cosplay-savvy sister... lol) and a little drip of blood down one side of my mouth... and i guess that makes me a man-eating anime kitty girl. or something of the sort? lol! i know, its kinda lame. i'll try harder next year... *not gonna try harder next year*

A NANA-INDUCED WISHLIST

i recently rewatched a few episodes of nana, which sparked a total nana-envy wishlist. so here it is.

guitar skills. to live in tokyo. a vivienne westwood armour ring. a vivienne westwood anything. an OL job. a band. big combat boots. sparkly pink fake nails. takumi ichinose. to NEVER meet a guy like takumi ichinose. a new set of strawberry glasses. a #1 fan in the form of a very cute lolita. a record contract. a best friend who i am slightly similar to, yet distinctly different from that i can move into an apartment in the city with... oh wait. i have that. ;)

i guess the last thing would be the full dvd set of the nana anime. and takumi ichinose. ;)

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! OMG!
so me and neechan finally got our copy of the GazettE's new album, TOXIC. in short, it is amazing. like, insane. everything one could expect from such an intense and hard working band.
so as is tradition with rinda and i, we chilled out last night and listened to the whole album all the way through. among hilarious bouts of ruki engrish, which is always expected, i have to say this is just a brilliant example of the GazettE at thier most innovative. well done boys.
mm, standout tracks, for me at least, were "the suicide circus", "my devil on the bed", "untitled", and "psychopath". luv it.

bihada ichizoku... i'm such a sucker for sparkly anime... ^^

so i was randomly browsing animecrazy.net for something to watch a little while ago and stumbled upon a random conglomeration of sparkles and pastels called "bihada ichizoku"... obviously i had to watch the first episode, especially after reading reviews stating that it was too girly and cheesy and was basically a blatant advertisement to boost sales of bihada cosmetics. i was so sold... and after watching it i'm extra sold. aaaaaand i wanna buy new makeup. makeup with anime characters on the package. like, now!! (o.O)

i was super intrigued at the fact that the anime was preceded by a manga/beauty sheet (mask) bundle... kinda weird and way awesome. and i'm stoked cuz now when i see the products in the local japanese market, which i often have, i will know what the hell it is. luv it.

each episode is something like 8 minutes long and totally satisfies my hidden princess complex... win.

crystal castles - i'm not a huge fan of trendy... anything really, so i usually steer clear of anything labeled "hipster". being related to a little hipster makes that a little difficult though, so naturally my sister has gotten me into some of her music. crystal castles is a perfect example of this. the track "not in love" featuring robert smith is insane.

nanase aikawa - how have i managed to completely avoid this singer throughout my extensive listening of jpop and jrock music? i mean, seriously?! her songs are insanely brilliant, and super diverse as well. listen to "bye bye".

katy - best dog ever. is there a way to start aging her in reverse?! she's getting old and that makes me sad... after 10 years of having her around, i get lonely at the thought of her not being here. glad i get to chill with her at my moms house today though, haha... ;)

google chrome - thank you, random teenage friends of my baby sister, for insisting that she download and use this instead of explorer. no thanks, however, for the creepy justin beiber theme. changed that crap as soon as i saw it...

where am i going dammit?

so... the past 5 months since moving have been truely amazing and totally enlightening, they really have... but i feel stunted in my personal growth somehow. there are days that i wake up, look out my window, and have to tell myself that i'm on the brink of something awesome. but then i carry on throughout my day as if nothing in my life has changed. logically, there is no way that my life HASN'T changed. without going into detail, i have so much more freedom now living in my shared apartment with the bestie. but i guess emotionally i'm still looking for something.
i have to wonder if thats the reason i started this blog in the first place. i wanted it to be an outlet for blabbing about whatever random shit i'm geeking over at the moment (otakutie= female otaku... lame.), but perhaps it'll lend itself to my own self-discovery. but in the most un-new agey way ever. cuz that just sucks.
